Family Therapy

A family can be an incredible source of joy and healing but it can also be a great source of pain.

When trauma happens, whether it be abuse, grief, addiction, or divorce, it impacts the family as a whole. Therefore it often makes the most sense to treat the whole family instead of treating each individual separately.

Resilient families overcome difficulties and can grow even closer as a result of challenges they’ve faced. Family therapy aims to build strong bonds and ensures that an individual is never isolated in the midst of his or her pain. Why face difficulties alone when you have your family by your side? Our families shape who we are, and with the right approach, can play a key role in helping us heal and live to our fullest potential.

My Approach

I utilize Emotionally Focused Family Therapy ( EFFT) which aims to restore connection and promote resilience in family relationships. I will work with you to create an environment of safety where each family member can be heard, understood, and validated. Together we will identify the attachment vulnerabilities that underlie the patterns of disconnection and conflict within the family. We will then work to re-establish more secure family patterns by strengthening the trust, safety, and bonding within the family system.
